CHARACTER NAME: Rover
CHARACTER AGE: Old/adult.
CANON: This game is two months old, so I'll have to write a bit of explainer for it since the Wikis are rather bare:
WuWa is set in Solaris-III, or Sol-III, the third planet from the sun. Sometime in its history the first Lament happened, and has so far continued to plague the world. 'The Lament' is a term for the beginning of all the disastrous phenomena that has plagued Sol-III in different forms, termed as 'waveworn phenomena': Tacet fields and Tacet discords, the formation of the Etheric Sea, retroact rain, gravity loss of the entire planet and strong blizzards. I'll explain the two that we've encountered so far in the game.
- In Sol-III, all beings have a form of energy, and this energy takes an auditory and physical form. Pure energy is known as 'the remnant', a frequency which is believed to carry information that transcends time and space. Tacet Discords (TDs) are sentient beings formed by the residual chaotic frequency energy during the Lament. TDs have ever-changing, amorphous forms. These beings instinctively feed on other TD's frequencies to maintain stability and evolve. They are often influenced by the types of frequency they consume. These TDs come from a liminal space called Tacet fields, which is a cross-shaped mark on a barren ground connected through space with a white 'chord'. A sign of destabilization in Sol-III is the multiple presences of Tacet fields. It is not known what determines the presence of a Tacet field.
Once killed, sometimes, TDs leave an echo of their former selves in an energy that can be collected and harnessed for research and battle. Resonators can absorb this energy using a mechanism called the Pangu terminal. Resonators are individuals who can, as their name suggests, 'resonate' with the frequencies of their environment and harness them.
- Retroact rain: a form of waveworn phenomenon where condensed remnant energy from the Etheric Sea in Sol-III conjures illusions of past events to those exposed to it, projected as very realistic phantoms once the rain falls. Retroact rain is known for its unusual activity of starting as normal rain, before water droplets completely remain still in mid-air, and then float upwards. Strong emotional connection to the area affected by the retroact rain forms intsense hallucinations. While usually harmless, the remnant energy is now a magnet for TDs. The effects of the retroact rain can be intensified by a very powerful TD, known as a 'Threnodian'. A Threnodian is a TD which is a reflection of the collective will of humans condensed into physical form, usually attached to humanity's more destructive attributes, such as the urge for war.
Jinzhou, where the game opens, is a battleground. During the second recorded appearance of Retroact rain, thousands of phantoms of dead soldiers and TDs were given a physical form thanks to the Threnodian's influence. The souls of those who die in the retroact rain will remain trapped in the rain.
The setting begins in Huanglong, a nation in which the main city is Jinzhou, one of the nations in Sol-III. Rover, a resonator, wakes up in the plains and finds two girls worried over her condition. She wakes up with no memories of her past. The game is essentially getting involved in the politics and different factions in play in Sol-III while finding out fragments of memories that Rover has.
Rover isn't her real name, that's just the generic name that everyone calls her.
(Also, as with any game, you can choose the model of the protag, I'm just going with the female form and she/her pronouns.)
CANON POINT: Post 1.7.

SUITABILITY: Rover herself is a helpful person, kind, protective, and understands the shifting need for alliances between different powers, which sometimes would lead her to be a pawn - for the lack of a better word - for either side. While she doesn't necessarily concern herself with the big picture or doesn't get involved with leadership problems, she is more about making sure that she is able to protect those in need and defend the greater good.
Rover, in legend, has been part of countless tales in Jinzhou's past; there are implications in the story that she wakes up in different timelines, and supports different factions - good or bad or ill. Being here is just another aspect of her story as 'Rover' and wouldn't be much different waking up in her canon.
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
GOOD
COOL AS A CUCUMBER. Rover is noted for having a calm and collected presence. This is important for a Resonator, because they absorb different 'frequencies' of TDs, which aren't necessarily born out of good frequencies. A resonator who has a chaotic state of mind can bring injury to themselves, a phenomenon known as 'overclocking'. Rover, despite all of her strength, is able to absorb the frequencies of TDs and have her body and mental state remain in a stable condition. It's highly likely that Rover isn't quite human, which contributes to her very chill mental state, but that's not information that's available to her now.
ADAPTABLE AND STRONG. In terms of physical strength, Rover can fight and protect herself. She is capable with a sword and capable of using her resonator abilities. She has very strong mental walls, which is an ability she's not quite sure of as to why she has. In terms of team composition, she isn't strong enough to be a main tank. While Rover is stronger than most humans, she's often belittled by other competitors because of her slight appearance.
AMIABLE AND GENEROUS. Rover is friendly and gentle. She enjoys food and spending time with her friends. Her lack of memories makes her curious about everything around her and how it affects her. She likes to help people, sometimes to her detriment. She works well enough with others, and prioritizes the completion of tasks and safety of her companions. She places a lot of faith in people. She likes to discover things about herself that she'd forgotten, or hadn't known before - in any case they're both the same for her. Rover respects the rule of law, and intends to uphold the peace wherever she goes. It's the only way she can say she belongs anywhere.
QUIET PERSONALITY. Rover not having her memories doesn't necessarily mean she's devoid of personality or values. She's shown to be playful, confident, and staunch in fighting for what she believes in. She makes easy promises of protecting and assisting people with the best of her abilities. She gets frustrated at the casual cruelty of people, especially when other innocent lives get hurt. Rover is often patient and listens to people's complicated lives whenever she comes across something that conflicts her beliefs. Because she doesn't always have the answers and can't recall whether or not she's had experience dealing with complicated situations, she leans on her friends and the expertise of others to make decisions. In a lot of ways Rover is intent on building a lot of social ties and maintaining them in order to have a sense of community around her.
BAD
MALLEABLE. Several factions in Huanglong are fighting for her existence and her favour. It is said that Rover is the resonator of legend who has either saved Huanglong, or will be part of a future which will bring destructive change to the world. Not having enough knowledge or memory of what she is means that Rover is quite amenable to giving any member of any of the factions the opportunity to explain themselves, even if there is the intention to deliberately lie or mislead her. Despite the inherent danger Rover has a tendency to give others a chance too many times, even if she ought not to, after having witnessed their potential for cruelty or inherent selfishness. It's not that she's passive, nor that she doesn't understand how power works, it's just that she's too generous with her time and attention when sometimes she ought to be more decisive about not entertaining one terrible faction over the other. She's not infallible, and the game has shown that Rover can get into trouble with trusting other people sometimes, which can lead to her getting kidnapped or being mistaken in how she evaluates their personality.
MERCENARY. Rover tends to take on more dangerous jobs with some amount of pay. She tolerates a lot more unsavoury characters even to her detriment and sometimes allows herself to be used if it means achieving a goal she approves of. Rover has a reckless confidence in her ability to endure that makes her take on more dangerous missions, especially for a unit who doesn't have the ability to heal herself.
RECKLESS ABANDON. Rover is aware that she is special, at some level. This means that she can get into incredibly dangerous situations because her tolerance for hardship is greater than most people's. While Rover isn't above asking for help in order to get her through tough times, the fact remains that she often says yes to dangerous situations that could help someone even if her life can be endangered at some point in time.
WORRIES AND FEARS. Despite her calm demeanour, Rover does feel a lot of anxiety about not having her memories and wanting to progress in the world to find more about herself, even if it's just to recover fragments. She tends to tolerate different trials and tribulations if it means getting to understand herself a little better, which makes her a great target for all three factions in the game that want her to be part of them.
PERSONALITY REFERENCE: The Wikis are rather bare as the game just showed up in May 2024. I can link you a wiki, but it won't have a personality section just yet.
POWERS & SKILLS: Rover, at the end of her canon, has the ability to switch elements, from Spectro/light element to Havoc/dark element. Gacha mechanics means that the player has to build up havoc elements for Rover, so I'm going to keep her in her Spectro element for ease of play in the RP.
BASIC ATTACK Rover is good with swords. Her sword attack deals Spectro damage, which also reduces the targets resistance against Spectro damages every time she hits them.
AOE Using Spectro energy, collects it to a single point to a target and detonating it after a short interval to deal Spectro damage. During this time, Rover is also capable of healing her companions for a short period of time. The healing ability is based on a percentage of her attack, so I'll say it's just 50% of the injuries. She's not a full healer type, just a unit who has healing abilities.
RESONATOR I don't know how best to explain this, but when she kills monsters, sometimes, they leave 'echoes' of them behind. Think of it like their souls. Rover, as a special Resonator, has the ability to suck their souls into the Tacet mark she has on her hand. She's fully capable of doing it without relying on external technology like other Resonators and she's able to do it without pushing her limits and becoming a danger to herself (a term the game calls 'overclocking').
Once she has the 'soul', she is able to briefly transform as this monster, utilize their skills to cause damage, before transforming back to herself. All Resonators are capable of doing this, Rover's special skill is that her body is able to adapt and absorb well to the number of souls she takes into her without it affecting her poorly.
MISCELLANEOUS There's a small, pokemon-like being inside of her body that constantly demands to be fed 'souls' (echoes in-game). Canon name is Abby, it goes to sleep inside of her and can be summoned if she's in danger to protect her. At this time there's not enough information about it beyond that. Because it's the game mascot, I'll just leave it as a quiet thing that occasionally speaks to her in the form of hunger spasms.
NERFED POWERS: Her Resonator power can be nerfed. I don't know if she can be able to suck the Kaiju souls in the game, but maybe she can do it once a month and any more than that she'll have a greater risk of overclocking.
PERSONAL ITEM: Her sword. Nothing special about it, it's her preferred weapon.
ALTERNATE IDENTITY: Hua Xien, therapist.
